Vodacom Confirms Black Shareholder Plan

Vodacom has finally concluded the details of its broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transaction. This follows the company's announcement of its intention to implement a BEE transaction on 10 March 2008 and the announcement of the preferred strategic partners on 24 April 2008.

Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) is a program launched by the South African government to redress the inequalities of Apartheid by giving previously disadvantaged groups (black Africans, Coloureds and Indians who are SA citizens) economic opportunities previously not available to them. After the end of Apartheid in 1994 and with the advent of majority rule, control of big business in both the public and private sectors still rested primarily in the hands of white individuals. According to Statistics South Africa, Whites comprise just under 10% of the population, meaning that most of the country's economy was controlled by a very small minority. BEE is intended to transform the economy to be representative of the demographic make-up of the country.

The transaction is very broad-based including a public offer to the black public, black groups and Vodacom black business partners as well as participation by Vodacom's employees and two broadbased strategic partners, Royal Bafokeng Holdings (RBH) and Thebe Investment Corporation.

The transaction value of R7.5 billion (US$926 million) equates to an effective 6.25% interest in Vodacom's South African operations, Vodacom SA. This values Vodacom SA at R120 billion. If the public offer is fully subscribed, the equity contribution by participants will be R900 million.

As previously announced, Vodacom SA staff will participate in 25%, and the strategic black partners 45%, of the BEE transaction. Assuming that the public offer is fully subscribed, the black public will participate in 30% of the BEE transaction. On that basis, ownership in Vodacom SA post the BEE transaction will therefore be black public 1.89%, employees 1.55% and strategic black partners 2.81%. The balance of ownership of 93.75% will continue to be held by Vodacom Group.

RBH is the primary investment vehicle of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, a 300,000 strong broad-based black community in the North West province. Thebe is one of the pioneers of broad-based BEE in South Africa. Its main shareholder, the Batho Batho Trust, is a community based organisation established to promote the social and economic development of black people and women.

It is the statistic that dare not speak its name, though eventually it must. It has huge ramifications for the civil and political life of this country, the health of the equity markets and, most immediately, the residential property market. So don't forget you read it here first: the population of the UK is presently somewhere between 77 and 80 million.

The 2001 census, already hopelessly out of date and easy to avoid for those who find filling in forms a trifle inelegant, numbered us at a little under 59 million. But as statistics go, that one's most definitely a damned lie.

My sources for the above statement are good, but scared of admitting the truth for fear of incurring the wrath of Whitehall. It's like the best way of monitoring illegal drug consumption: forget the pious statements from ministers – the foolproof method is to sample our water and the effluent in it. That's easily the best way of monitoring what the nation has been consuming.

Consumption – that's the thing. Based on what we eat, one big supermarket chain reckons there are 80 million people living in the UK. The demand for food is a reliable indicator; as Sir Richard Branson says, you can have all the money in the world but you can only eat onelunch and one dinner.

The supermarket in question was privately lobbying the Competition Commission to let it grow its market share. The argu- ment, reasonably enough, was that the market was far bigger than the regulator realised, so expanding the network was fair.

I have a second, respectable, source. A major, non-commercial agricultural institution reckons there are 77 million of us in the UK. Again, its reckoning is based on what we eat.

That faint background noise you're hearing as you read this is the sound of everyone slithering off the record. Why? In political terms, standing behind these figures would be to toss a hand grenade into a vat of gasoline. People would be hounded out of a job for scaremongering.

The Office for National Statistics' figures, published last week, predict a population of 75 million by 2051. It's an honest estimate but horribly wide of the mark because number counting doesn't work effectively. If you want to know how many there are of us, ask a food firm.

If the true numbers were revealed, the Little Englanders and xenophobes would come out in force about the evils of immigration. But that's what made America great in the 19th century, and it's a driving force of our economy right now. It's also anti-inflationary.

David Buik, a money manager with broker BGC Partners, was talking of "one million Eastern Europeans unaccounted for in London" on television last week. I suspect he's right if somewhat conservative in his estimate. How many do you see working in the construction industry and waiting at tables?

And when I say "anti-inflationary", I mean they are getting rotten wages. Dignified by the term "cheap labour", the hidden hordes will do well for the services sector, among others. People are assets – to maintain and to be maintained – so we are wealthier as a nation.

All of which is reflected in strong economic demand and markets see-sawing between optimism over what we all see on the streets (that 77 million figure feels right to me) and the possibility of something nasty if the Bank of England credit-crunch prognosis is correct (to echo last week, I think next spring will be unpleasant).

As for housing, property magnates and chief executives of housing associations alike say the expanding population means serious demand for the foreseeable future, credit crunch or no.

Patients with terminal illnesses are being made to die prematurely under an NHS scheme to help end their lives, leading doctors have warned.
In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, a group of experts who care for the terminally ill claim that some patients are being wrongly judged as close to death.

Under NHS guidance introduced across England to help doctors and medical staff deal with dying patients, they can then have fluid and drugs withdrawn and many are put on continuous sedation until they pass away.

But this approach can also mask the signs that their condition is improving, the experts warn.

As a result the scheme is causing a “national crisis” in patient care, the letter states. It has been signed palliative care experts including Professor Peter Millard, Emeritus Professor of Geriatrics, University of London, Dr Peter Hargreaves, a consultant in Palliative Medicine at St Luke’s cancer centre in Guildford, and four others.

“Forecasting death is an inexact science,”they say. Patients are being diagnosed as being close to death “without regard to the fact that the diagnosis could be wrong.
“As a result a national wave of discontent is building up, as family and friends witness the denial of fluids and food to patients."

The warning comes just a week after a report by the Patients Association estimated that up to one million patients had received poor or cruel care on the NHS.

The scheme, called the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP), was designed to reduce patient suffering in their final hours.

Developed by Marie Curie, the cancer charity, in a Liverpool hospice it was initially developed for cancer patients but now includes other life threatening conditions.

It was recommended as a model by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice = NASTY), the Government’s health scrutiny body, in 2004.

It has been gradually adopted nationwide and more than 300 hospitals, 130 hospices and 560 care homes in England currently use the system.

Under the guidelines the decision to diagnose that a patient is close to death is made by the entire medical team treating them, including a senior doctor.

They look for signs that a patient is approaching their final hours, which can include if patients have lost consciousness or whether they are having difficulty swallowing medication.

However, doctors warn that these signs can point to other medical problems.

Patients can become semi-conscious and confused as a side effect of pain-killing drugs such as morphine if they are also dehydrated, for instance.

When a decision has been made to place a patient on the pathway doctors are then recommended to consider removing medication or invasive procedures, such as intravenous drips, which are no longer of benefit.

If a patient is judged to still be able to eat or drink food and water will still be offered to them, as this is considered nursing care rather than medical intervention.

Dr Hargreaves said that this depended, however, on constant assessment of a patient’s condition.

He added that some patients were being “wrongly” put on the pathway, which created a “self-fulfilling prophecy” that they would die.

He said: “I have been practising palliative medicine for more than 20 years and I am getting more concerned about this “death pathway” that is coming in.

“It is supposed to let people die with dignity but it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

“Patients who are allowed to become dehydrated and then become confused can be wrongly put on this pathway.”

He added: “What they are trying to do is stop people being overtreated as they are dying.

“It is a very laudable idea. But the concern is that it is tick box medicine that stops people thinking.”

He said that he had personally taken patients off the pathway who went on to live for “significant” amounts of time and warned that many doctors were not checking the progress of patients enough to notice improvement in their condition.

Prof Millard said that it was “worrying” that patients were being “terminally” sedated, using syringe drivers, which continually empty their contents into a patient over the course of 24 hours.

In 2007-08 16.5 per cent of deaths in Britain came about after continuous deep sedation, according to researchers at the Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, twice as many as in Belgium and the Netherlands.

“If they are sedated it is much harder to see that a patient is getting better,” Prof Millard said.

Katherine Murphy, director of the Patients Association, said: “Even the tiniest things that happen towards the end of a patient’s life can have a huge and lasting affect on patients and their families feelings about their care.

“Guidelines like the LCP can be very helpful but healthcare professionals always need to keep in mind the individual needs of patients.

“There is no one size fits all approach.”

A spokesman for Marie Curie said: “The letter highlights some complex issues related to care of the dying.

“The Liverpool Care Pathway for the Dying Patient was developed in response to a societal need to transfer best practice of care of the dying from the hospice to other care settings.

“The LCP is not the answer to all the complex elements of this area of health care but we believe it is a step in the right direction.”

The pathway also includes advice on the spiritual care of the patient and their family both before and after the death.

It has also been used in 800 instances outside care homes, hospices and hospitals, including for people who have died in their own homes.

The letter has also been signed by Dr Anthony Cole, the chairman of the Medical Ethics Alliance, Dr David Hill, an anaesthetist, Dowager Lady Salisbury, chairman of the Choose Life campaign and Dr Elizabeth Negus a lecturer in English at Barking University.

A spokesman for the Department of Health said: “People coming to the end of their lives should have a right to high quality, compassionate and dignified care.

"The Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP) is an established and recommended tool that provides clinicians with an evidence-based framework to help delivery of high quality care for people at the end of their lives.

"Many people receive excellent care at the end of their lives. We are investing £286 million over the two years to 2011 to support implementation of the End of Life Care Strategy to help improve end of life care for all adults, regardless of where they live.”

In a front-page article last week, London’s Daily Telegraph claimed that several Guantanamo extremists were found to have a direct-line phone number to the bbc and that the U.S. government itself suspected the bbc of being a "possible propaganda media network” for al Qaeda.

According to the files, American forces uncovered many "extremist links” to this same bbc number, which suggested that terrorists were in contact with sympathetic bbc employees who had information on "acm [anti-coalition militia] operations.”

An April 21, 2007, detainee assessment states:

The London, United Kingdom, phone number … was discovered in numerous seized phone books and phones associated with extremist-linked individuals. The number is associated with the British Broadcasting Corporation (bbc).

The released documents, written by senior U.S. military chiefs at Guantanamo, also state that terrorists from all over the Middle East and Africa had flocked to London, that Britain had ignored repeated warnings to stop granting them asylum and that London had thus become a "haven” for extremists. They reveal that the United States was not at all surprised at the 2005 tube bombings which killed 52.

These revelations are enabling people in Britain to understand exactly why the French secret services have nicknamed Britain’s capital "The Pakistan of the West” and "Londonistan.”

The revelations also brought out that Britain furnished more members of al Qaeda who ended up as part of Guantanamo’s prisoner population than any other nation. No fewer than 35 of those prisoners had been radicalized by Islamic preachers in Britain.

the Emergency Council of European Rabbis in Budapest, Hungary, January 12, 1952:
Rabinovich:ʺGreetings my children; You have been called her to recapitulate the principal steps of our new program. As you know, we had hoped to have twenty years between wars to consolidate the great gains which we made from World WarII, but our increasing numbers in certain vital areas is arousing opposition to us and we must now work with every means at our disposal to precipitate World WarIII within five years.

The goal for which we have striven so concertedly for three thousand years is at last within our reach, and because its fulfillment is so apparent,it behooves us to increase our efforts and our ten years have passed, our race will take its rightful place in the world with every Jew a king and every Gentile a slave(Applause from the gathering)You remember thE success of our propaganda campaign during the 1930ʹs, which aroused anti‐American passions in Germany at the same time we were

Im sure some of you are already aware of the following I received in an email this evening but I have pasted and copied as a little reminder of the disgusting three headed monster called Liblabcon we have governing our precious country

ASYLUM SCANDAL

We know they're going to move asylum seekers in there. All the flats have been done up, central heating, the works. And they've put up brand new net curtains. That's a sure sign.

This is the kind of message that we have been hearing from angry locals all over Britain for the last couple of years. Many of the details change, but the total renovations and the highly visible net curtains crop up time and time again.

So too do the denials by local councils that the premises concerned are going to house asylum seekers. And almost as regular is the spectacle of those same councils being forced to eat their words within weeks as local residents wake up to find that new neighbours from Albania and Somalia have been moved in overnight.

The repetition of this pattern over the entire country has been something of a mystery up until now. Strangest of all has been the sight of so many councils telling lies to local residents and newspapers alike, even though the bureaucrats and local councillors telling the lies must know that they will be exposed and discredited within weeks. Just such a sequence of events, for example, played a major role in the by-election victory of our Robin Evans in Blackburn last autumn.

Secret Tenancy Agreement

The answers to this puzzle lies in a secret 26-page document the Revised Tenancy Agreement April 2001 - produced by the Secretary of State for the Home Office, acting through the Immigration and Nationality Directorate. Its very existence is supposed to be secret, Section 3 (p), on page 8 has this warning for people or companies thinking of making money out of housing asylum seekers:

The Landlord's attention is drawn to the Official Secrets Acts 1911-1989. The landlord shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that all individuals engaged on any work in connection with this Agreement have notice that these statutory provisions apply to them and shall continue to apply after the expiry or termination of the Term.

I don't know whether there is anything to make a reader who is not planning to be a signatory to the document subject to the provisions of the Official Secrets Act. I don't know, and I don't care. This document is so shocking that the truth about it has to be told. All I will say is that this article is published here solely on my authority, so if some Home Office legal bigwigs wants to prosecute over this shockingly democratic breach of their veil of secrecy, they know where to find me.

The anti-free speech restrictions continue on page 9, although by this time the section numbers seem to have become somewhat confused and very unclear. The actual meaning of Section (a) (iii), however, is all too clear:

The Landlord shall ensure that no press release or other public document containing Confidential Information is issued and shall not make any public statement concerning Confidential Information without the prior written approval of the Directorate and the Tenant Company as to its content and the manner and extent of its publication.

This is the answer to one key asylum mystery. This is why local councils and private companies alike, which are providing accommodation for 'refugees', continually refuse to comment or lie about their role in housing asylum seekers. Once they've signed up to this Agreement, they simply don't have a choice.

So what doesn't the Home Office want you to know? Take a look at Schedule 1 on page 14, and you can see for yourself:

This list of requirements for any property being used to house asylum seekers begins, reasonably enough, by insisting that it shall be fit for human habitation, and have adequate light. Let us ignore the fact that many hundreds of thousands of our own people are either homeless or live in houses which are unfit for human habitation because, according to central government and local councils, there isn't enough money to deal with all the problems.

By the time we get to Section 1.3, the secret Agreement begins to lay out requirements which are beyond the reach not just of a relatively small number of the homeless or desperately poor:

all meters shall be of the quarterly type, the use of card or key meters shall not be allowed.

Isn't that nice? If you and your family fall into arrears on your utility bills, particularly electricity, you have to agree to the installation of a card meter set at such a rate that it gobbles up money. British families with children can't be officially cut off but if they run out of meter credit, their lights and heating go off anyway and they have to go to bed at dusk in the winter to try to keep warm. Such hardships are unacceptable, however, when it comes to asylum seekers.

Section 1.7 insists that The Property shall have a full and safe central heating system installed. Paraffin or bottled gas fed heating systems shall not be used. Perish the thought! Such devices are fine for British pensioners and young families shivering on the poverty line, but far too smelly, inconvenient and dangerous for Mr Blunkett's favourites.

New electrical goods

After laying down requirements on issues such as fire safety, the Schedule reaches Point 10: All electrical appliances in the Property shall be either new or, if second hand, shall be supplied complete with a twelve month guarantee. Well, I don't know about you, but when my wife and I got married and set up home, we had to get our first electric cooker and heaters from an auction, completely without any guarantee at all. And, of course, ordinary British youngsters moving into places of their own still face the same choice between paying through the nose for new equipment or going without guarantees.

Pages 15 and 16 go on to provide a long list of the things needed in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathroom of each asylum property. As you're probably expecting by now, this features everything from chip pans to teaspoons, from an easy chair for each bed space to a Boots first aid kit.

The long 'General' list in Section 1.13 even proves that the popular observation about new net curtains showing that asylum seekers are moving in is true, since landlords are ordered to provide net & drawable curtains to all living rooms and bedrooms. They get everything, in fact, including the kitchen sink.

Free colour TV and licence paid!

One item does, however, stand out:

For Each Living/Dining Room

1 new twenty inch screen colour television complete with licence which shall be renewed at each annual anniversary of the Start Date throughout the Term.

Native Brits, of course, have to wait until they are 75 to get a free TV licence, and non-payment of this iniquitous tax is the biggest single 'crime' that puts British women in prison.

Many of those women can't afford a TV licence because they are struggling to bring up young families on pitifully low incomes. As a result, they are also often unable to afford proper child safety equipment. No wonder, then, that the Home Office bureaucrats being so generous with our tax money wanted to keep Section 1.20 secret:

Where there are to be children living in the Property, the Property shall include:

Adequate cot and highchair facilities

Appropriate sterilisation equipment;

Child safety gates on all stairways;

Childproof resistant devices or casement stays on all windows;

Appropriate play areas both inside and outside the Property.

Another thing that ordinary families on average incomes find a big problem is the occasional cost of major repairs. Asylum seekers have no such worries. Under this Agreement, the Landlord is bound to do all repairs within seven days, and to provide an emergency repair service (Section 1.23) where a threat to health and safety is apparent. The rest of us have to turn to Yellow Pages or pay for call out insurance, but it would be unfair to expect asylum seekers to do the same, wouldn't it?

Similarly favourable treatment is also specified in the Letting Provisions, Section (f) of which commits the Landlord to redecorate all parts of the Property in the third year of the Term. The rest of us may have to fork out down at "Do It All", but not Mr Blunkett's special guests.

Perhaps most ludicrous of all, however, is the next section (g) of the Letting Provisions, whereby the Landlord agrees: To have the exterior of all windows of the Property cleaned once every twelve weeks. I kid you not, it's there on page 7. What would George Formby have had to say about it?

Who pays?

So what do all these modcons and services cost the lucky occupants of such premises? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. When various bleeding heart liberals tell us how asylum seekers only get basic income support payments, they don't tell us about the Letting Provisions on page 4 of the Home Office's Revised Tenancy Agreement, do they? Yet these show that not only do asylum seekers get their TV licences paid for them, we also pick up the tab for their rent, water rates, gas, electricity and council tax bills.

Surely, you must think, these people must want to spend night after night on the phone to all their friends and family back home, telling them all about the wonders of Soft Touch Britain? A lot of their pocket money must go on paying the phone bill? No, as you probably guessed, they don't have to pay a penny. Section 1 ((b) of the Letting Provisions sets out the fact that the Tenant Company (funded by the taxpayer) agrees to pick up the phone bill for every single property provided by the Landlord in question to asylum seekers.

Don't forget that every single council or housing association in this land which is housing asylum seekers has signed this document. Thousands of councillors in the ruling party in Labour, Lib Dem and Tory councils alike have either read this document or studiously avoided seeing it so they didn't have to.

It only took one BNP member in one council to leak this insulting and undemocratic document. By contrast, we will never know how many Lib-Lab-Con merchants have seen this Agreement since it first started being used in 2001, but not a single one of them has had the guts to put the interests of democracy and their constituents before asylum seekers and the Home Office.

I arrived at the meeting in Windsor on a rainy Sunday afternoon, as I passed by the castle and noticed Liz was home as our union flag was flying high. I knew that our Chairman Nick Griffin MEP was speaking and as usual was looking forward to what he had to say. I was pleased that he wasn't going to do a speech but a question and answer hour. I must admit I do enjoy the Q & A's.
I took my place next to Simon Darby, it was really nice to catch up with him again, having met him briefly at the 2009 RWB I reminded him that it was me, who called him up on talk radio to ask about the Red Kites my grandaughter had took a keen interest in.
Nick arrived to a raptuous applause and immediately asked for the first question to be asked. Over an hour later some people wanted some photo's taken with him so I had another quick chat with Simon and I was happy to hear his news about ................................. I think I will leave that news for Simon to tell you so keep an eye on his blog here

After our goodbyes were said we got on with the meeting which was mostly about the South Eastern Region and where we stand in the party and I am happy to say the SE are solid comrades and the only way is up!

A MUM and daughter paying their respects in Dewsbury Cemetery were subjected to a torrent of racist abuse by a gang of up to 20 Asians.
The 39-year-old white woman, who was with her 11-year-old daughter, was going to lay flowers at her mother’s grave.
The mum and daughter had just been dropped off at the Pilgrim Crescent entrance while the woman’s husband went to park up.
It was at this point that a gang of Asian youths gathered and began taunting them.
They were called “white slags” and “white trash” as they laid flowers on a grave only yards away.
The woman, who asked not to be named, said her daughter was reduced to tears and added: “She was shaking. I had to hold her hand to keep her calm.
“I was frightened and thought we were about to be attacked. Thankfully they stayed by a wall near the cemetery gates.”
The woman, originally from Westtown, had travelled from Hull with her daughter and husband to visit her mother’s grave.
They had just been dropped off by her husband at around 3pm on Sunday when the incident happened.
The husband realised what was happening and drove back to pick them up.
“My husband could see that things were not all right,” said the woman. “Our daughter had drawn a picture for her gran and was putting it on the grave.
“She couldn’t understand why these youths would be so abusive and I don’t either. My mum died only recently and things are still a bit raw.
“Westtown used to be a lovely area when I lived here 20 years ago. I don’t know what’s happened to it. There’s just no respect any more.”
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the victim made a complaint after returning to Hull and would be interviewed by Humberside Police.
He urged people to report incidents as soon as possible and added: “We take any form of hate crime extremely seriously.
“Such incidents should be reported to us as soon as possible so that we can get to the area and deal with the offenders.”

Greg Gutfield from Fox News’ Red Eye announced today via his blog that he is actively speaking to investors and plans on opening a gay bar next to the controversial mosque being built near Ground Zero in New York. To make matters worse (better?) the bar will be specifically designed to cater to homosexuals of the Islamic faith.this is going to be an exciting!

ESA and the Work Capability Assessment test

A report launched in March 2010 by national charity Citizens Advice, and supported by eighteen other organisations, highlights grave concerns with how sick and disabled people are being assessed for Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

ESA was introduced in October 2008 to replace the existing incapacity benefit for new claimants. It aims to give more help to those who might, with support, be able to work.

Since ESA was introduced, CAB advisers across England and Wales have been reporting high numbers of seriously ill and disabled people being found ‘fit for work’ under the new Work Capability Assessment (WCA). Examples of CAB clients in this situation include people in the advanced stages of Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis, people with severe mental illness, and some who are dealing with acute short-term health problems, such as awaiting open heart surgery.
The report 'Not working - CAB evidence on the ESA Work Capability Assessment’ outlines concerns with the limited effectiveness of the assessment. Claimants undergo a medical test, which should assess what they can do, but the charity’s evidence shows that the test doesn’t account for the complexities of many illnesses and disabilities. Citizens Advice is hearing numerous reports of hurried medicals, where medical examiners miss vital details, make unjustifiable assumptions and don’t place enough emphasis on the impact of mental health issues on the ability to work.
The report shows how, for these people, failing the WCA can have an enormously detrimental effect. By being told they must find work, they face further hardship by either having to claim JSA, which is a less supportive benefit, or, in many cases, no benefit at all. Moreover, the stress of the test, and the prospect of fighting unfavourable decisions at a tribunal adds to the considerable pressure of their situations. In these cases, the system risks moving already vulnerable people even further away from a return to the workplace.

David Harker, Chief Executive at Citizens Advice said:

“The current test to determine eligibility for ESA isn’t working. We are seeing cases where the Government’s aim of moving people into work is being totally undermined.“Seriously ill and disabled people are being severely let down by the crude approach of the Work Capability Assessment. A much more sophisticated approach is needed, that not only looks at a person’s ability to undertake a certain task on the day of the test, but considers supporting medical evidence and other aspects, such as the variability of a person’s condition and the external barriers they face in finding work. “We are very concerned about the 69 per cent of people assessed who are refused ESA. Some of our clients should never have been subjected to the work capability assessment, and we believe that if someone is seriously ill, more information should be gathered from their doctor before this decision is made. Undoubtedly, there are some people ready and able to go back to work at the time of their assessment, but our evidence shows that there are many more people who, by being moved off the benefit and away from any further support, are effectively being written off.”
He concluded: “Citizens Advice calls on the Government to address the problems outlined in the report, which are causing hardship to seriously ill people at a time when they most need support.”
Just 3 examples of people failing test:
A former engineer in his 50’s who was working as a driver. After feeling ill for a number of months he visited his G.P and was immediately referred to hospital where he was admitted with heart disease and required a triple bypass. About three weeks after he’d been discharged he started to feel extremely ill again. He went back to hospital and after a series of new tests was diagnosed with inoperable and incurable stomach and liver cancer. Although he was advised to continue taking regular exercise, he found walking and breathing difficult, was in constant pain and suffered a number of uncomfortable side effects from both his cancer and heart medication. At his WCA he was found fit for work on the basis that he remarked how he walked daily (although not far and not without discomfort) and could raise his hands above his head (once). None of his medical consultants could believe the decision. He recently appealed the original decision and was successful in being put into the support group for people not required to look for work.

A gentleman with Parkinson’s disease had both physical and cognitive difficulties. He went for a WCA and was found fit for work despite being unable to stand for longer than 10 minutes, a tendency to fall, deteriorating speech and concentration - he slurred his words and could not control saliva, and had very poor short term memory, with inability to recall conversations that happened a few hours previously. His mental health had also suffered because of his difficulties.

A man in Leeds who, following an attack by a gang during which he was shot at and suffered multiple injuries, suffered post traumatic stress disorder along with anxiety and depression. The man, who had consistently worked throughout his life until this point, now finds it hard to leave the house and suffers flashbacks, but is undergoing medical treatment and counselling as he wants to return to work as soon as he can. He failed his WCA and was found fit for work. He feels completely let down by the system and believes the test didn’t take into consideration the true impact of his situation, because the questions were focused so much towards prescriptive questions which just require ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers. He says he felt like he was on trial and that he was being branded a benefits cheat, when all he wanted was enough time to get himself better before returning to work. He appealed the decision and was successful and is now in the group for people needing extra support and time before finding a job.

Edl and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

An incident broke out in Nuneaton this afternoon following a parade to mark the granting of the Freedom of Entry to the Borough to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

The parade was attended by individuals who appeared to be associated with the English Defence League, but during the march there were no incidents and the event passed peacefully and very successfully.because the muslim kept their vile mouths shut for a change

Some time between 14.00hrs and 14.30hrs about 60 EDL sympathisers gathered for a quiet drink in and around The Crew public house.

This attracted the attention of the local muslim community and as a consequence a large group of people, principally from the Asian muslim community, gathered a few yards away at the junction of Edward Street and Queens Road.

There was much chanting and potential provocation from both groups but fortunately no-one was injured.

There was an incident where a bottle was thrown which led to one person being arrested. (we will not be revealing the identity because he is a muslim ? ?)

In a separate incident a car was attacked and damaged as it travelled along Queens Road.

A wide range of police officers from Warwickshire Police and West Midlands Police were deployed at the scene to contain the situation.

Chief Inspector Chris Lewis said: "The day began with a peaceful parade to celebrate the granting of the Freedom of Entry to the Borough to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

"The day has been sadly marred by the situation which broke out this afternoon in Queens Road.

"Officers from Warwickshire Police with support from West Midlands Police worked for a number of hours to contain the situation and by 5pm we had escorted the EDL sympathisers to the train station and their cars and they left the town.

"It has been a very tense afternoon but I believe that the situation is now under control.

"Throughout the afternoon we have worked closely with local community leaders and I would like to thank them for their very active support. I am also grateful to the landlord of The Crew public house who was also very proactive in helping us get the situation under control and achieve good dialogue with the EDL. because there is no reasoning with muslims

"Warwickshire Police will continue to work with members of any community who either live, work or visits the county. We are totally committed to protecting all people from harm."

Update* While looking for more information I came across a story on the Coventry Telegraph and it seems to me there is more to this than the police and media are telling us ... no surprise there. It appears our soldiers were abused yet again from the religion of peace the following is taken from a reply:

I wrote an article about Domestic Violence (DV) back in March 2009 here:

What is the official definition of domestic violence?
The government defines domestic violence as "Any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are or have been intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality." This includes issues of concern to black and minority ethnic communities such as so called 'honour killings'.

Although I made it clear in the article that DV cuts both ways I have yet to discover the excuses women use to bully and abuse men. I sat for hours at my computer asking various search engines "why do women abuse men" and every page gave the opposite answer "why do men abuse women"
So after much searching I cannot find the answer to the excuses women use to "justify" why they abuse men. I did however find the excuses that men use ! All of the excuses are words of a coward trying to "justify" why they "slapped" women
Now I do know that all forms of DV be it psychological, economic, emotional or physical , come from the abuser's desire for power and control over their victim and I also know what men say to justify it.
Make of the following excuses what you will, but in my opinion they are words of a playground bully or pure and simply the words of a COWARD..................

"She made me do it"....... "She should have tried harder"......."She liked it" ........ "She just wants to play the victim"..........."Its her fault, she should have cleaned the mess up"....... "She knows my sexual needs, its her duty".......... "She cant be trusted with money"...... "She just wants money to tart herself up with make-up and clothes".......... "I keep her in line as any responsible husband would"........ "She knows I'm jealous of her youth"

*Try as I might I can't seem to reverse these pathetically cowardly excuses!

My Local British National Party Meeting

My nearest branch invited me to their meeting and I was especially pleased when the branch organiser asked if I would speak about the activities I do on the Internet.
I arrived at the meeting at 7:45pm and after saying our "hello, good to see you" we made our way to the meeting room.
Neil (the local Branch organiser) started the meeting off with a talk about our England flag and how so many people are 'patriotic' during the football seasons. How sad it is when the football is over the flags come down.
Neil then went on to speak about a subject so close to my heart, our children.......
I have 4 adult children and 14 grandchildren and the situation we are in today their futures and that of their children worries me immensely.
It concerns me that they will not be educated the truth of British history, it concerns me they will not have the freedoms I had as a child, it concerns me they will be taught by marxist teachers, it especially concerns me that my 5 year old grandchildren will be taught sex education.
It particularly concerns me that my grandchildren will be living under a dictatorship of a foreign state (Will someone please explain why my daddy and grandad fought for our freedoms during the 1st and 2nd wars)
It concerns me that they will live under sharia law. Oh yes I am very very concerned for my grandchildren and I know the only way our children are going to survive is with the British National Party in government

Liverpool Military Parade Cancelled because It Was Not Diverse Enough

In yet another example of the insanity which pervades ConDemLab Britain, the eighth annual Liverpool Military Show has been cancelled because it was not “diverse enough” and it had the potential to offend Muslims in Merseyside.
According to local media reports, the annual charity event was cancelled after the Labour Party-controlled town hall withdrew an £8,000 funding grant allegedly because it didn't meet their "diversity criteria.”
A local newspaper quoted a spokesman for the Liverpool Military Show as saying that the event organisers had tried to meet the “equality and diversity standards” by including a “transsexual soldier” in the parade.
The event was to have taken place last Saturday and would have included a memorial service to fallen war heroes. A large number of armed forces personnel and equipment, due to take part in the parade, had to stand down because of the last minute cancellation.
Last year's show raised £13,000 for the Army Benevolent Fund, Combat Stress, St John Ambulance and the Army Cadet Force.
This year, however, organisers said they were told that the show did not "score highly enough" on Liverpool City Council's "diversity scale" to justify funding from the arts and culture budget.
The decision to pull funding to the army charity event contrasts strongly with the decision a week earlier by Liverpool City Council to give £80,000 to fund the Liverpool "Homotopia" festival in August and the "IDAHO" Gay Pride festival which celebrates an "International Day against Homophobia.”
Liverpool war hero Peter Dunning, who lost both his legs while serving with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan, was quoted in a newspaper as saying the decision was "a disgrace.

"The council are just afraid of a Muslim backlash, similar to the protests in London last year,” Mr Dunning was quoted as saying.

So it goes: the colonisation of Britain by Islam will mean the replacement of British culture, heritage and traditions with that of the colonising force. Only the British National Party stands against this destruction of all that is Britain.

I found this video on You Tube and decided to share with you, mostly because the lyrics are very much how I feel about music.

To live without my music, seems impossible to do, in this world of troubles, my music pulls me through

When I'm in the Home of the Green Arrow promoting the BNP pal talk room the conversations usually remind me of lyrics to songs I haven't heard for years and sometimes members in the room request a favourite song of theirs for me or someone to play in the room and we have great conversations about the songs and sometimes some may confess what it means to them personally.

The room is often filled with people talking about politics and everyday happenings from gardening to baking bread and even problems with their PCs, cars and pets. not forgetting the quiz on Sunday evenings hosted by our wonderful Kazzynoo that are great fun to join in.

To me, the music between the chat seems to keep the room alive because members in the room seem to type much more than in a 'silent' room (to me the silence is deafening) and it surprises some members how we share and enjoy the same sort of music. For the very few who don't like the sort of music played they have the choice of raising their hand to speak or the mute button, although some do tend to forget the 'mute' button and would rather type something unnecessary and throw a wet blanket in the room and make it feel briefly uncomfortable for others enjoying the music and text.

So back to the lyrics 'in this world of troubles, my music pulls me through' that's the way it is for me and I also have the choice of the 'mute' button when listening to the very few who bore me.

Leicester police are investigating after youths burned an England flag and were seen running off and shouting racist abuse at the manager outside his pub in Leicester.

Mr Roehrig said "It had been hanging above the door and was in flames. There was a group of asian lads running off and shouting racist abuse at me"

The police said they are "investigating the damage and were also looking into the racist element of the incident"

There is nothing more frustrating than going to a supermarket and not knowing how much the items in your basket are going to cost, most of the time the price on the shelf is relating to that item which is further up the shelf, so when you believe the cost is say 75p you get to the checkout you find your item is actually £1.25, you find yourself telling the checkout "I understood that to be 75p" so she calls a supervisor to check the price on the shelf and they come back to say " sorry madam that is £1.25"

Well excuse me but I dont want to pay £1.25 for an item that I believed to be 75p! and what about the other 12 items in my basket? how much are they going to cost ? well I could keep the supervisor close by and on her toes to check the prices on everything I have in my basket or save time and pay the total bill then go home and read through the receipt and find I have paid for items I could have bought cheaper from the shop closer to my home!

Gone are the days when every item had the little price stickers on them which you can still find in the small corner shops and you are clear about how much your shopping will cost before you go to the till and chat about the happenings in the town or even the weather to the shop keeper

Is this so big supermarkets have control of your time and your purse? unless you question the price of every item in your basket? the checkout assistant just sits there beep, beep, beeping away as each item is passed through the radar! while her mind is on what to wear to the pub tonight with no consideration of "customer care"

Now the point of this article is that today I read to my dismay that babies born today will no longer have the little blue or pink wrist band with their name, date of birth and mummy's name on it they will be bar coded!

* like supermarket items, will they be beeped through the system?

Anti-BNP meeting cancelled,RMT caught out to be LIARS

A HIGHLY anticipated anti-BNP meeting starring a home-bred folk star, a sporting legend and a trade union leader had to be pulled at the last minute.

The Stop The BNP forum, which was organised by the RMT union, was scheduled to take place at the Broadway Theatre in Barking on Sunday (April 11) to discuss the implications of voting for the right-wing British National Party.

It promised to be a lively campaigning effort with the general secretary of RMT Bob Crow, Bard of Barking Billy Bragg and football star Luther Blissett as speakers.

However, the Broadway Theatre, which is a registered charity, had to cancel the meeting due to its political nature.

The venue had initially been told that the event would be a private meeting of union members but staff were surprised to see an advert from the RMT in this paper which announced it as an "open forum" with a political agenda.

A spokeswoman for the venue said: "The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) had hired the Broadway for an event that was to take place here on Sunday 11 April.

"At the time of the hire, the Broadway was informed that it was to be a private meeting for RMT members.

"Subsequently, we discovered that the event was being described as an 'open forum' in newspaper advertisements, with an agenda to discuss 'the dangerous consequences of further gains for the BNP in Barking and Dagenham'.

"Because the nature of the hire had been changed without discussion with or the prior agreement of the Broadway and was being advertised as a public event of a political nature, the Broadway was left with no option other than to cancel the event.

Immigration was at the centre of the election campaign today as it emerged that virtually every extra job created under Labour has gone to a foreign worker.

Figures suggested an extraordinary 98.5 per cent of 1.67million new posts were taken by immigrants.

Net inward migration to the UK, the difference between the number of people arriving and leaving, is up threefold since Labour came to power.

In 1997, it stood at 48,000. By 2004, fuelled by a surge in new arrivals from Eastern Europe, it reached an all-time record 244,000, and in 2007 it was 237,000

The BNP’s policy is to:

- Deport all the two million plus who are here illegally;

- Deport all those who commit crimes and whose original nationality was not British;

- Review all recent grants of residence or citizenship to ensure they are still appropriate;

- Offer generous grants to those of foreign descent resident here who wish to leave permanently;

- Stop all new immigration except for exceptional cases;

- Reject all asylum seekers who passed safe countries on their way to Britain.

Immigration is out of control. Britain’s population is now over 60 million and rising, solely due to immigration. Not only is Britain increasingly overcrowded, but the fact is that a country is the product of its people and if you change the people you inevitably change the nature of the country.

We want Britain to remain – or return to – the way it has traditionally been. We accept that Britain always will have ethnic minorities and have no problem with this as long as they remain minorities and do not change nor seek to change the fundamental culture and identity of the indigenous peoples of the British Isles.

The current open-door policy and unrestricted, uncontrolled immigration is leading to higher crime rates, demand for more housing (driving prices out of the reach of young people), severe extra strain on the environment, traffic congestion, longer hospital waiting lists, lower educational standards, higher income taxes, lower wages, higher unemployment, loss of British identity, a breakdown in community spirit, more restrictive policing, higher council taxes, a shortage of council homes, higher levels of stress and unhappiness and a more atomised society.

India would not tolerate millions of non-Indians taking over that society. Pakistan would not tolerate millions of Hindus or Christians entering that country and changing it from a Muslim society into something else. Japan would not do it; China would not do it – so why should Britain?

Can anyone imagine Saudi Arabia allowing the mass immigration of Christians, so that in a few decades it would no longer be an Islamic country?

Each nation has the right to maintain its own identity. The right of India to remain Indian, the right of China to remain Chinese, the right of Pakistan to remain Pakistani and the right of Saudi Arabia to remain Saudi does not mean that any of these nations “hate” anybody else.

All it means is that they wish to preserve their identity and national existence.

This is all the British National Party seeks for Britain – the right to be British.

This is not an extreme demand – it is actually just perfectly normal and completely in line with the rights granted to every other nation and with international law.

All the other parties shy away from this issue, because they are the ones who have caused the problem in the first place.

Only the British National Party has the reasonable, sensible, fair and just immigration policy which will guarantee that Britain remains British.

Members of team Black Country BNP are soon to undertake a 1,100 foot walk up to Rodney's Pillar, on the Shropshire borders. Sponsors will be helping to fund the candidates for entry in to the campaign to potentially elect Members of Parliament to Westminster.

The last time this walk was completed, we were joined by Chairman Mr. Nick Griffin, and Deputy Chairman, Mr Simon Darby. We cannot promise that this will happen this time around, due to their massive commitments elsewhere, but who knows?

The team will walk up the 1,100 foot hill, and sponsors are required to help the campaign to get MP's elected, or give the enemies of our country a bloody good fright indeed, and prepare the way for future General Elections with a show of strength.

At 1 penny per foot, sponsors are able to help without breaking the bank. Some will want to go the whole hog, and sponsor every step. £11 will see the whole walk covered, but it is down to personal circumstances etc.

At a computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon".

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to re-install the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, twice times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle,turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

Seeing and holding your baby – Sands concern over NICE Guidelines

We wanted to make you aware of a difficult situation which we have been trying to overcome over the past few months regarding the choice that parents have to see and hold their baby after their baby has died.

We are very concerned that bereaved parents in the future may not be offered the opportunity to see and hold their baby after death.

This is because current guidelines issued by NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) to midwifery units and to bereaved parents, on seeing and holding a baby after the baby has died, are currently open to misinterpretation.

This guideline (Clinical Guideline 45: Antenatal and postnatal mental health) consists of 4 different documents:

1. The full clinical guidelines
2. Clinical management and service guidance
3. Quick reference guide
4. Information for people who use NHS services

In each of these the wording is slightly but significantly different but the current wording in the quick reference guide, which is specifically aimed at policy makers and staff states: “Do not routinely encourage mothers of infants who are stillborn or die soon after birth to see and hold the dead infant.”

We already have evidence that one Trust in England has adopted this wording as policy for staff. As a result we are deeply concerned that this wording will be used by other Trusts across the UK if confusion over the guidelines continues.

Neal Long, Sands Chief Executive: “The lack of consistency in such influential guidance from NICE and the recommendations that imply removing choice from parents is both shocking and extremely unhelpful to both parents and those caring for them. Not every parent may want to see and hold their baby but for many (certainly every parent we see at Sands) it is simply an act of parenting.”

“We want to see all documentation from NICE, including information for parents, to carry the same information as that laid out in the original Full Clinical Guideline, `that women should not be encouraged to hold their dead baby if they do not wish to’.”

“If the NICE Guidelines continue to be misinterpreted in such a way we will be returning to the Dark Ages of maternity care where health professionals dictate to mothers what is good for them and parents are denied their most basic right to see and hold their baby, spending time with them to say hello and goodbye in their own way. The memories created at this time are the only memories they will have of their baby.”

Sands maintains that parents must continue to be offered choice about what is done when their baby dies, and that in order for choice to be real, it must be informed. Parents have a fundamental right to see their own baby, and no health professional, however well meaning, has the right to deny them this choice.

We are extremely concerned by the inconsistent wording in the NICE guidelines and the implications this may have for bereaved parents. These concerns are highlighted in an article written by Judith Schott and Alix Henley from Sands, published today in the British Journal of Midwifery.

A shortened version of the article can be found below which outlines our position on the issue of the NICE guidelines.

NICE GUIDANCE ON SEEING AND HOLDING A STILLBORN BABY
The practice of offering parents opportunities to create memories and, in particular, to see and hold their babies after death, arose out of the anguish of those who had not been allowed to do so. In response, Sands has worked with health professionals over many years to promote a range of choices that parents can make, including seeing and holding their baby.

However in 2007, NICE published Clinical Guideline 45: Antenatal and postnatal mental health. This consists of four documents, each of which makes different statements about seeing and holding a stillborn infant:

1. The Full Clinical Guideline (369 pages) states, "The findings of [Hughes et al 2002] suggest that women should not be encouraged to hold their dead baby if they do not wish to” (Section 6.2.4 - page 196).

2. Clinical management and service guidance (48 pages) states, "Mothers whose infants are stillborn or die soon after birth should not be routinely encouraged to see and hold the dead infant” (Section 1.3.1.4 – page 16). “…if they do not wish to” has been omitted and “routinely” inserted.

3. Clinical management and service guidance: quick reference guide (21 pages) states, “Do not routinely encourage mothers of infants who are stillborn or die soon after birth to see and hold the dead infant” (Page 9).

NICE (2009) states that a quick reference guide “summarises the recommendations in an easy-to-use format for health professionals”. So this is the document most likely to be read by policy makers and practitioners. Indeed, Sands has evidence that at least one Trust has adopted the wording in the Quick reference guide as policy for staff.

4. Understanding NICE guidance: Information for people who use NHS services (27 pages) reads, “If your baby is stillborn: Although it is a rare event, sometimes babies are stillborn. You should be offered a chance to talk to a healthcare professional if this happens. But it is now considered unhelpful for women to see and hold their babies, unless they particularly wish to do so” (Page 9).

Such inconsistent guidance from an influential organisation is completely unacceptable, as are recommendations that imply removing choice from parents.

It is worth noting that in Postnatal care: Clinical Guideline 37 (2006) NICE states, “The views, beliefs and values of the woman, her partner and her family in relation to her care and that her of baby should be sought at all times…. Women should have the opportunity to make informed decisions about their care and any treatment needed…”.

It is hardly surprising that few newly bereaved parents think of asking for ways to create memories or know what is possible. Sands maintains that parents must continue to be offered choice about what is done when their baby dies, and that in order for choice to be real, it must be informed. Parents have a fundamental right to see their own baby if they want to, and no health professional, however well meaning, has the right to deny them this choice.

My experience of losing Matthew was made easier by the health proffessionals and guidelines that are available through the Stillbirth And Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) a charity whos core aims are to

* Support anyone affected by the death of a baby;

*To work in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families; and

*To promote research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives

Many years ago these guidelines were not available and many parents never had the experience of holding their babies indeed some were not allowed to even see their babies it was a time when midwives sent mothers home with a cheery, "Never mind dear, you can have another one"as if you had lost something you had bought in a supermarket or, "See you in nine months"as if you'd made a mistake this time round.

Linda's baby boy, Jo, died in 1974 she says: "In June 1974, I gave birth to my first born son. I never saw him. Eighteen weeks into the pregnancy problems had started. I was told that I would miscarry, that unless I could hold on to my baby until twenty-eight weeks he had no chance of life. Nothing could be done, I was to carry on as normal. During the following weeks he grew, he moved, he kicked - but we only managed twenty-five weeks.
I went into labour, gave birth, he cried - more of a whimper really - but I heard him. They took him away. Hours later, they told me he had just died. I can remember exactly every word spoken, every action, every feeling, every detail of that day, right up to that point. Then nothing.
I never saw him, never held him. I have no memory of him, nor him of me, this side of birth. He lived and died alone.
I was told to forget, to get on with my life, to get pregnant again. That it was just one of those things. I was told it was best not to talk or even think about him. I learnt later that as he was a live birth he had been registered and buried. But it was thought best that I didn't know. I wasn't told about the funeral of my son.I had to forget. But you don't, do you?
Twenty-four years later various events happened in my life and memories of that baby became very prominent. I told myself that I was being stupid, it was long past. But the thoughts would not go away. The sadness, the aching, would not go away.
Eventually I was persuaded to see a psychologist, Anne, who was compassionate and wise. At last I was able to talk about my baby. It was allowed. It was not silly but quite normal, even necessary.
I found a copy of his birth certificate, there was a blank space where his name should have been. I found the cemetery, the entry in their records. Again, no name. I found the patch of grass that was his unmarked grave where he lay with three other babies. Now he was real, he had lived, he was mine.Anne asked if I wanted to give him a name, maybe write what I wanted to say to him. Yes, oh yes.
I needed to know what he may have looked like, so Anne arranged for me to visit the special care unit at the local hospital. I met another mother and her tiny daughter and the nurses who were caring for them. I listened, I watched and that perfect, beautiful little person held my finger. I found out how things have changed. All the people in that room were special. Individuals - whatever their size. No blank spaces. There was so much love and understanding in that ward. I came way convinced that no-one, but no-one, ever has the right to separate a mother from her baby. Now, at last, this is understood. But there must be so many women of my generation and older who are still trying to forget and not succeeding.

That night I cried, wept for my baby, my son I never held.

Anne says "At 36 weeks they said my baby was small and it would be better if she was born now.
After 36 hours of labour I was finally told my baby was dead and that I needed an emergency Caesarean Section. I remember everything, every detail, every word spoken, every action, every feeling. I thought I was going to die and I wanted to.
Then nothing. A blank space, a void where there should have been a new life starting.
I asked questions which were mostly avoided or went unanswered. I was not allowed to see or to hold her. I was told to forget, get on with my life, to get pregnant again. I was told my daughter had Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida. When I asked about the funeral was told that she had been 'slipped' in with someone-else. When I tried to give her a name I was told there was no provision to name a stillborn child.

Catherine lost her daughter in April 1968 she says "No-one asked if we would like to see her, hold her or have a photograph. We were not allowed, in those days, to name her. We have no birth or death certificates and it was not thought that she deserved a proper funeral. When I was still in hospital, my husband was paying for her burial.Two weeks after my confinement I found a new job - no maternity leave then - and tried to get back to normal as was expected of me."

Chris lost her daughter in 1973 and started a local group in conjunction with two other mothers, She became chair of the then fledgling 'Stillbirth and Perinatal Death Society', which later became SANDS. "It was such a relief to meet other mothers and be able to talk and share experiences with them. Up till then I had never met anyone else who had been bereaved in this way, and although I knew the statistics, there had been many times when I had felt I was the only one in the whole world."
"Like many others of my generation, I have no memorials - no photos, locks of hair, foot or handprints. The nearest to a real memento is the wrist band which I was wearing when I came out of the hospital and of course her birth and death certificates. On days when I wonder if it was all a bad dream these would have helped to reassure me that she did exist."
"Sometimes it is difficult not to feel jealous of modern parents, but I try to remember that we campaigned all these years ago to make it the way it is in many areas today. Our group bought High Wycombe Hospital their first Polaroid camera, and I made two little gowns, one pink and one blue, so that babies did not have be photographed in a hospital one."

Early moments and the days

I had to make some choices! and that the choices I had to make about what I wanted to happen with Matthew in the early hours and days of his death were the most important choices I would make. I did not want any regrets of 'If only I had done it this way or that way' although it was so extremely difficult and hard to take in the reality of what had happened, I knew that the memories of this short time with my Matthew before I had to say goodbye were the most important to me, and I wanted no regrets to come back and haunt me for the rest of my life.

The choices I made are very personal to me and I needed time to think about it which I had very little of, I knew I needed to create memories not only in my mind but physical memories and I felt I wanted to share the memories with my family.
Fortunately for me I had the best team of midwives and nurses who were experienced in babyloss and were there to help and support me and help me get through the early days and most importantly advise me on the decisions I had to make.'Do I want a burial or cremation?''Do you want to hold him?''Do you want to bathe him and dress him?' 'Do you want photographs of him?'' Do you want footprints?''A lock of his hair?''Do you want him in your room with you?'
The questions are not the questions I was wanting to answer, the 'normal' thing to do when you have just given birth is to celebrate and take your live healthy baby home with you!
I chose to have Matthew in a moses basket in my room with me, when members of my family came to see me it was the most natural thing that they wanted to hold him and I know that sharing the memories of Matthew helped me get through and cope with my loss.
Practical issues and law
The practical things that had to be done in the early days like choosing to have a post mortem?, of course I wanted to know why my beautiful son had died, were the hardest to bear.
If your baby was stillborn after 24 weeks then registering your baby's name is a legal requirement. I felt that by registering Matthew at least his existence is officially acknowledged.
Arranging Matthew's funeral was made easier for me as my brother is a Baptist Minister he took alot of the arrangements with the funeral director away from me as far as I was concerned In the natural, logical order of things, parents are not expected to outlive their children. I should not be burying my son, I should not be burying him!

Holding Matthew was the most precious moments of my life,
*Most people only dream of angels, I got to hold one in my arms.

This is my story

I already had 4 children when I was pregnant with my Matthew. My youngest daughter was 6 years old, so my new baby was a bit of a surprise to the husband(now ex)and me. The husband was furious that I could get "yourself pregnant"!! he didnt speak about my baby at all.
In March of 1991 when I was 5 months pg we moved in to my mummy's house,she had had a massive stroke in 1987 and needed 24 hour company. Then the ex started to acknowledge my baby (in company of course).
My mummy had a heart attack and was admitted to hospital on the 24th of May thank god she was ok. We arranged for her to come home on the 3rd of June, as it turned out I had an appointment at the same hosp that morning so I took my mummy's clothes with me and see her after my 36 week anti natal.
I knew there was something not right the evening before! but it was easier to keep thinking "its gonna be ok I got hospital appointment tomorrow" When it was my turn to see the midwife I was thinking "somethings wrong ..... I just know somethings wrong" when she listened for my babys heart my mind was screaming out "somethings wrong!" she didnt say a word to me, she went off and brought back heart monitor,she was feeling my baby to see "what position he is in" she listened again and again my mind was screaming out "somethings wrong!" she didnt say a word she went off again and came back with another monitor to "record his heartbeat".
I was strapped to this monitor and by then I was waiting for her to say "im sorry your baby has died" she didnt say a word!
she went off and came back with a form and another doctor to take me down and have a scan" as I laid there looking at my baby with no heartbeat I noticed the sonographer was much less chatty than usual and all the time my mind was screaming at her "tell me he has died! just say it!" she didnt say a word.
I was escorted up to anti-natal in silence and told to sit in a room, I waited for another midwife who I had never met before to "have a word with you" She came in the room and said "Your baby has died, and you need to go to the labour ward as soon as possible" I thought "there you ....you said it !!!!!"
I told her I had to go and see my mummy now, and they were waffling on about me having to go to the labour ward and I just kept replying "I have to see my mummy now"
I went to the ward where my mummy was and when I arrived a doctor was on the phone talking about this mad woman whos baby had died and she was on her way down to see her mum!!!!!!!!
When I told my mummy what had happened she cried like a child.
I phoned the ex and told him our baby had died and he said "you are joking!"
I said "who in their right mind would 'joke' about something so awful?"
I gave birth to my Matthew at 11am the next day after a long night of hearing 4 other babies being born.It was pure hell knowing after my final push my baby was not going to cry!
I held my son in my arms so close to me. He was the most beautiful baby and looked so peaceful and asleep. All he had to do was breath
discussing my babys funeral was the most painful conversation I have ever had.
I came home the next day and took a picture of my Matthew to show my mum she asked me if I called him Matthew I said "yes mummy, thats the name we chose for him 6 months ago"
I didnt tell mum about Matthews funeral because her health had deteriorated over the next few days and I didnt want her to be laying in the hospital bed thinking of me burying my baby
I stayed at home after my matthews funeral not wanting to go out and feeling an utter failure and more so for letting my children down.

I managed to go back to the hospital to visit my mummy on the 23rd of June I had a big cuddle with her and I so wanted to cry in her arms and be comforted and for her to say "it will be ok" but she was still poorly and I didnt want to make a scene and upset her ............ my lovely mummy died the next day.

Taxpayers will be forced to pay millions to bail out the gold-plated pension scheme for the parasite mps.

The announcement was made by Commons Leader harriet harm-man yesterday.

While taxpayers will put in an extra £800,000 a year, MPs themselves will be asked to find just an additional £60 a month for what is one of Britain’s most generous schemes
The timing of Miss harm-man’s proposals has prompted bewilderment, coming after days of controversy over MPs’ expenses claims.

Taxpayers already pay 26.8 per cent of an MP’s pensionable salary into their pension pot but that will rise to 28.7 per cent from today.
That means taxpayers will have to fork out an extra £800,000 a year to fund MPs’ final salary pensions – though Miss harm-man made no mention of that in a statement to Parliament.

Like many pension schemes, the MPs’ fund faces a £51million deficit, largely because its members are living longer.
To plug the gap, Miss Harm-man said the Government wanted MPs to hand over an extra 1.9 per cent of their salary, equivalent to around £60 a month.

The Treasury, meanwhile, would increase its annual contribution from £12.4million to £13.2million.
In 2002, MPs voted to increase their pension accrual rate to one fortieth of salary for every year worked.
The result is that after just 20 years’ service, an MP can retire with annual pension of half their £65,000 salary

A group of UK Citizens have therefore set up an organisation, “The Blair War Crimes Foundation”, to initially bring one such leader to justice as an example.

We, the citizens of the United Kingdom and other countries listed, wish to uphold The United Nations Charter, The 1998 Rome Statute of The International Criminal Court, The Hague and Geneva Conventions and the Rule of International Law, especially in respect of:-

1: 1949 Geneva Convention IV: Article 146
The High Contracting Parties undertake to enact any legislation necessary to provide effective penal sanctions for persons committing, or ordering to be committed, any of the grave breaches of the present Convention.

2: 1907 Hague Convention IV: Article 3
A belligerent party which violates the provisions of the said regulations shall, if the case demands, be liable to pay compensation. It shall be responsible for all the acts committed by persons forming part of its armed forces.

We therefore call on you to indict Anthony Charles Lynton Blair in his capacity as recent Prime Minister of the UK, so long as he is able to answer for his actions and however long it takes, in respect of our sample complaints relating to the 2003 Iraq War waged by the UK as ally to the United States of America.

We are concerned that without justice and respect for the rule of law, the future for us and our progeny in a lawless world is bleak, as revealed by recent US declarations about the use of torture and the events of December 2008 in Gaza show.

The following are our sample complaints relating to the Iraq War 2003-2009:

1: Deceit and conspiracy for war, and providing false news to incite passions for war, causing in the order of one million deaths, 4 million refugees, countless maimings and traumas.

2: Employing radioactive ammunition causing long-term destruction of the planetary habitat.

3: Causing the breakdown of civil administration, with consequent lawlessness, especially looting, kidnapping, and violence, and consequent breakdown of womens’ rights, of religious freedom, and child and adult education.

4: Failing to maintain the medical needs of the populace.

5: Despoliation of the cultural heritage of the country.

6: Supporting an ally that employs ‘waterboarding’ and other tortures.

7: Seizing the assets of Iraq.

8: Using inhumane restraints on prisoners, including dogs, hoods, and cable ties.

9: Using Aggressive Patrolling indiscriminately, traumatising women and children and wrecking homes and property.

10: Marking bodies of prisoners with numbers, writing, faeces and other degrading treatment.

11: The use of cluster bombs and other indiscriminate weapons including white phosphorous on “shake and bake” missions.

12: Supporting indiscriminate rocket attacks from F16 fighter planes on women and children in Fallujah in Nov 2004

13: Supporting the shooting up of ambulances and medical personnel in Fallujah in Nov 2004

14: Supporting the expulsion of the entire population of Fallujah save for young men of military age, for a reprisal attack on that city in Nov 2004.

As part of a renewed focus on law and order, the (unelected) Prime Minister is to warn unruly youths that their Asbos will be publicised via leafleting and the internet.
bROWN said, "The public have a right to know what is happening in their areas, and the public have a right to receive information that they want on local individuals who have blighted their communities with anti-social behaviour.
So this week I will set out plans to publicise the names and details of those people subject to anti-social behaviour orders and other orders, using photographs, public leaflets and online. The consequences for committing anti-social behaviour should be clear."

Background (Preamble):

Nick Griffin appeared on the BBC1 programme Question Time on 22 October, 2009.

The BBC had been attacked by Labour Government Ministers for inviting the MEP and Leader of the British National Party (BNP) onto the show. Welsh Secretary Peter Hain wrote in the Guardian: "The BBC will be showcasing the BNP on a panel alongside the mainstream parties as an equally legitimate, respectable, democratic political party, when it is nothing of the kind." Hain had called for a meeting to discuss his support for "No Platform" with the BBC but it remains unclear at present whether one took place.

The Home Secretary, Alan Johnson, told David Dimbleby, the host on the show on 15th of October: "You may like to consider your invitation to next week’s Question Time.”

He added: “There isn't a constitutional obligation to appear on 'Question Time'. That gives them a legitimacy they do not deserve.”

The BBC has given reasons for its decisions but these have not been as widely reported as the attacks.

Ric Bailey the BBC's chief political adviser and former executive editor of 'Question Time' from 2000 to 2006 summed it up thus:

"For the BBC, it's quite straightforward. "Due impartiality" means we have to take account of the political context when we're making editorial judgements, day in day out. There isn't one single formula which applies in all circumstances. So how do we decide what are appropriate levels of airtime for the different political parties? Our starting point for that judgement - though not the only factor - is how real people vote in real elections."

"Measuring impartiality is less about mathematics and more about good judgement - but let's just look at the maths for a moment. In the recent European election, the BNP won more than 6% of the vote across Britain - approaching a million people. In some regions it was close to 10%. Like the Greens, they now have two MEPs - far fewer than UKIP - but they also have over 50 local councillors - fewer than the Greens, many more than UKIP.

"Ever since UKIP and the Greens won representation at a national level, they have appeared from time to time on 'Question Time'. Inviting the BNP onto the panel would be a continuation of the approach which recognises that the level of electoral support is a relevant factor in making these judgements.

"The BBC could not apply different standards to different parties because of their particular policies. That would be a breach of our charter, challengeable in the courts.

"But it's not fear of the lawyers or lobbying from the BNP themselves which would prompt an invitation to Nick Griffin. Impartiality is at the core of the BBC's journalism and this is a normal part of the process of constantly asking ourselves how we should be defining that impartiality in a changing political environment."

On the 'Question Time' programme which Johnson appeared other panel members disagreed with his view that Griffin and the BNP should be censored. Norman Baker, the Lib Dem MP, said that they should be "challenged in argument".

Damian Green MP, for the Tory Party, said Nick Griffin should be allowed to have his say on Question Time. He said that mainstream politicians should "confront them in argument". Nigel Farage of UKIP stated “The BBC have not put him on Question Time, the voters have.” Joan Bakewell, the other panelist, expressed no clear view. Johnson was clearly isolated.

Seen in this light, the comments of Labour Ministers can only be an attempt to bully the BBC to act in a partisan way. It's no surprise that the Labour Government want to tell the BBC who to invite, or not to invite and even how to report. That's nothing new. Nor is it a surprise that the Labour Party want to do down their BNP rivals. In many electoral wards the BNP represent their main opposition. Voters have turned to them in desperation at the abandonment of the white working class by an out-of-touch Political Class.

Censorship and abusing one's position to suppress the electoral chances of another political party which may take votes from you is merely political expedience disguised as moral indignation.

Alongside the establishment campaign to bully the Beeb runs implied threats of violence from their far-left street proxies. Fresh from their clashes with the Police and their mirror-image (the English Defence League) in Manchester the misnamed 'Unite Against Fascism' (UAF) have also lined-up to oppose the BBC decision. Writing in the Times, Fiona Hamilton reported UAF's stated intentions for the 22nd of October.

"Unite Against Fascism, which regularly demonstrates against the BNP, has said that it will try to blockade Television Centre to prevent Mr Griffin gaining access next Thursday."

"Unite Against Fascism told The Times that if thousands of protesters turned up there were plans to blockade the BBC building. A rally is also planned for the night before the event in Central London."

Notice the language being used here. The word is "blockade" not "protest" or "picket".

Definitions of "blockade" include:

• obstruct: hinder or prevent the progress or accomplishment of;
• barricade: render unsuitable for passage; "block the way";
• obstruct access to

The stated aim of UAF was to prevent Nick Griffin MEP from entering the building.

In the event Nick Griffin was able to enter the Studio accompanied by over 40 of his own security guards (many of whom are martial arts trained). Only 500-700 counter-demonstrators appeared and they blocked the wrong entrance.

In response to the criticisms from Labour ministers that the format of the programme would not allow "scrutiny" of Mr Griffin the BBC threw the normal format out of the window. Instead they stacked the studio audience with people hostile to the BNP and allowed the panel to gang-up on him. The hatred shown to him was disturbing to watch. He was treated very unfairly and scarcely allowed to answer without interruption. He was continually booed and jeered. Only one question was asked which did not concern the BNP and that was designed to allow further attacks on Mr Griffin. The real issues of the day, the Post strike, MPs arrogance on expenses, bonuses for the bankers etc were not even raised. This was not Question Time - it was a pantomime in which Nick Griffin, MEP, was cast as the villain.

Phatz Bar in Maidenhead

Phatz Bar is a modern bar with a lean towards funky soul music. It offers many different flavoured vodkas, cocktails and shooters. The bar, also stocks draught and bottled beers and conventional spirits. The bar attracts a wide range of people, but is aiming to attract those who are 21 and over. BUT NOT IF YOU ARE A SERVING SOLDIER.

Grieving soldiers who attended the funeral of a comrade killed in Afghanistan were stopped from entering a bar because they were wearing military uniform. The three soldiers and one Royal Marine were not allowed into the Phatz bar in Maidenhead after they attended the funeral of fallen Rifleman Daniel Hume, 22. The bar's door staff adamantly refused to lift their "No uniforms" policy, despite the fact that the group was accompanied by Rfn Hume's distraught father.

Rfn Hume was killed by a roadside bomb on July 9 while on foot patrol with 4th Battalion The Rifles at Nad e-Ali, in Afghanistan's Helmand province, just weeks into his first operational tour and only months after passing out as the best cadet at his training regiment.
His body was flown back to Britain and his funeral took place last Thursday afternoon at All Saint's Church, in the Humes' home town of Maidenhead, Berkshire.
Members of the public applauded spontaneously as the coffin was brought into the church, which contained hundreds of mourners including over 50 servicemen and women in uniform. Rfn Hume was given an honour guard of riflemen.
Afterward, a group of around 50 mourners went for a commemorative drink in Maidenhead town centre. It was around midnight when 12 members of the group - which included three soldiers in fatigues and a Royal Marine in full dress uniform headed to the late night Phatz bar, which normally remains open until 2.30am.

Rfn Hume's father Adrian said "They arrived at the Phatz bar, which Daniel had been to on occasion when he was on home leave, before me. When I got there they appeared a bit upset.
"They said the guy on the door had told them 'you can all come in, apart from the squaddies'. He refused to let the four who wearing uniform into the bar because they were wearing their uniform."
Mr Hume added that the servicemen were resigned to the situation, having experienced similar situations in the past.

Grant Page, manager at Phatz, said he turned the men away because "he had been told that there were 100 soldiers had been drinking all day and that some of them would be heading for his bar and I have to protect my customers' interests" (but not if its 100 people out on a stag or hen night)

Now im not a spiteful person and I wish no ill on any decent person and im sure any decent person would agree with me when I say to the people of Maidenhead and those that choose to visit Maidenhead for a night out to boycott this is the place which employs *Grant Page

A soldier who refuses to return to active duty in Afghanistan has indicated he will plead not guilty to the charge of desertion.
Lance Corporal Joe Glenton faced court martial at Bulford Military Court Centre in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
He did not enter a formal plea, but defence lawyer Hugh O'Donoghue said the soldier would deny the single charge against him.
Mr O'Donoghue also told the court he may call an expert witness to give evidence on the lawfulness of service and current operations in Afghanistan.
L Cpl Glenton handed in a letter to the Prime Minister to explain why he believes politicians are wasting soldiers' lives in an unjustified war. He is the first British soldier to speak out publicly against the war in Afghanistan.

Dear Mr Brown,
I am writing to you as a serving soldier in the British Army to express my views and concerns on the current conflict in Afghanistan.
It is my primary concern that the courage and tenacity of my fellow soldiers has become a tool of American foreign policy.
I believe this unethical short-changing of such proud men and women has caused immeasurable suffering not only to families of British service personnel who have been killed and injured, but also to the noble people of Afghanistan.
I have seen qualities in the Afghan people which have also been for so long apparent and admired in the British soldier. Qualities of robustness, humour, utter determination and unwillingness to take a step backwards.
However, it is these qualities, on both sides, which I fear will continue to cause a state of attrition. These will only lead to more heartbreak within both our societies.
I am not a general nor am I a politician and I cannot claim any mastery of strategy. However, I am a soldier who has served in Afghanistan, which has given me some small insight.
I believe that when British military personnel submit themselves to the service of the nation and put their bodies into harm's way, the government that sends them into battle is obliged to ensure that the cause is just and right, i.e. for the protection of life and liberty.
The war in Afghanistan is not reducing the terrorist risk, far from improving Afghan lives it is bringing death and devastation to their country. Britain has no business there.
I do not believe that our cause in Afghanistan is just or right. I implore you, Sir, to bring our soldiers home."

Deranged and Dangerous Doctor? or Just Angry!

An Iraqi doctor who has been suspended for four years following a vicious road rage attack on a pregnant woman can return to work!
Dr May Arnaot, 52, rammed nurse Sarah Chambers with her 4x4 at a petrol station in Erith. Arnaot pinned Ms Chambers, 25, against a no entry sign when asked for her insurance details following a road rage incident, Arnaot then yelled "racist" abuse at the nursery nurse, saying: "You're Tony Blair's b**ch, all you white people are the same - you all vote for Tony Blair." (HaHa! Got that wrong didnt ya!!)
Ms Chambers was hospitalised by the incident amid fears that she would miscarry and Dr Arnaot later received a suspended prison term. Thankfully Ms Chambers later gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
In 2005, Arnaot was given a suspended sentence for calling a rail worker a 'black b*****d' and spitting in his face.
The Baghdad-born doctor had angrily interrupted GMC panel chairman Professor Kevin Dalton at her a fitness to practise hearing last week but despite her outburst, she can now return to work under supervision after the GMC ruled last Wednesday that this might be 'constructive'!!
But Professor Dalton told her: "The panel is concerned that you have shown limited insight into the seriousness of your convictions and into your professional misconduct, and that issues relating to your anger management are still apparent."
Arnaot told the hearing: "All convictions were related to issues of anger and being angry. These matters are entirely anger management matters or it was combined with gynaecology health issues which have now with time been surpassed."
Arnaot claimed menopausal disorder was responsible for her rages and has said she will refuse to work with British patients when she returns to work.

Will somebody please tell me how this racist menopausal mad woman is allowed to continue to work in Britain? when she "refuses to work with British patients"

So much has happened since my last blog the election of 2 British National Party MEP's being the greatest news in my top ten! Of course the best news was the birth of my beautiful grandaughter

I'm not writing about all that has happened because I will be here for a very long time, but I do want to write my thoughts about to one or two things that really get my goat!

I find it rather amusing when reading 'news' stories in the msm or news websites (not that I buy or watch the trash) that they have a quite disgusting attitude and that they can print what lies they like about the British National Party, their members or supporters and then refuse to publish truthful or positive comments towards the British National Party or disable comments completely, and I think it's very distasteful and immoral when they choose to black out important news that we have a right to know.
So, as this is My Blog, My Space and My part of the www I am choosing to use this as a place where I can write My thoughts and My opinions without the fear of censorship

A dear friend of mine informed me that I havent updated my blog for over a month and I am 'slacking!' So with a prick of my conscience I need to rectify my 'slacking'

My daughter has been quite poorly since the beginning of this month, what started off with a trip to the dentist, antibiotics and persistant sickness, still feeling sick she did a pregnancy test which showed a positive result, a trip to our local hospital and an early scan confirmed she is indeed nearly 7 weeks pregnant, so now she can look forward to another 7 months of sickness the poor love.

My middle daughter is well into her pregnancy, I accompanied her to the other local hospital for her 36 week check-up and Im relieved to say all is well.

While waiting for what seemed like half the day at the hospitals a cup of tea was called for so I thought a walk to the nearest WVS for a nice cuppa would suffice. To my extreme dissapointment I discovered the WVS have been thrown out and taken over by the 'Costa' chain of coffee houses, at £1.95 for a cup of spew churned out of a machine and served in a paper cup which Costa purport to be a cup of tea, in my opinion they can stick it where the sun doesnt shine! How greedy are they to make money at the expense of someone needing to visit a hospital ? How obscene that they take advantage of our NHS ? and what about the dear pensioners who are more likely to want a cup of tea? £1.95 is nothing but daylight robbery. Costa Coffee is certainly on my boycott list

So I ask............. Will Mcdonalds be the next chain ? or maybe Burger King? KFC? or Dominos Pizza?

Domestic Violence The Hidden Truth

Theres has been quite a bit about Domestic Violence in the news this week.
Mori have completed a poll that found many Britons have an 'unacceptable' attitude to domestic violence, with one in five saying a woman deserves to be hit for wearing revealing clothes in public. I suspect many of those polled were Muslim The poll also revealed that almost one in seven said women who nagged their husbands deserved to be hit. One in ten said it was a woman's fault that she was sexually or violently assaulted if she flirted beforehand. More than a third said female rape victims who were drunk were at least partially responsible for the attack, the survey found.
Mori failed to say if the poll was men, women or both participating My thoughts would be the latter.
In response to the poll Jackboots Smith held a breakfast in Westminster with women's groups to outline plans for police to keep detailed records of men with a history of abuse, women would then be informed if they start a relationship with such a man!
Where does that woman get off?
Most women dont inform the police anyway so how are they to keep a register? and what of the men that are abused? shouldnt men also be informed before starting a relationship with a pre menstral or a post menopausal nut case?
Men have the raw deal once again. Unfortunately there is still a belief among some that men simply cannot be victims of domestic violence. This makes it even more difficult for male victims to confide in anyone about what is happening which can lead to the same depression, despair, low self esteem, feelings of hopelessness and isolation that women feel.

6.4% of men in England and Wales between the ages of 20 and 24 say they were victims of abuse in 2008
5.4% of women in the same age group reported being victims of domestic violence

Two in 10 men have experienced domestic abuse since the age of 16
Three in 10 women have experienced the same abuse
One in six men will be abused by their partner in their lifetime

There are 500 refuges for female victims of DV and only 12 for men....... I ask why ?

When I set up this Blog I didn't really know how I was going to make the best use of 'my space' I wanted a place where I could write my thoughts and opinions. These last few weeks have been particularly hard for me in many ways and I have been too angry to write anything that would make sense. My mummy taught me "If you cant say anything nice, don't say anything at all" so I have chosen not to say anything.
I always had the most utmost respect for my mummy and I'm sure if she was alive today she would know that although sometimes when things are said they may sound 'not nice' the truth is, the truth hurts sometimes.
So getting back to my Blog (my space) I have decided I will use 'my space' to write my thoughts and opinions whether I please or offend, I do believe that bottling things is a bad thing one thing for sure is that in 'my space' it will always be the truth.

First of all please accept my apologies for not returning yesterday, I was busy trawling the Internet for the truth and we all know the truth hurts at times.
As many of you will now know Geert Wilders was banned from our country yesterday and I was busy finding new articles to find out what happened. There is no way that I will write any article that I can't backup with the truth or make false statements that deceive people.
I found some interesting articles and news stories about Labour MP for Leicester East Keith Vaz. This pompous, self-righteous, racist will jump on any bandwagon for a little self-indulgence. His appearance on last nights BBC's Newsnight might teach him a lesson that if you are going to appear on national television to join a discussion about why the banning of Geert Wilders was justified, be sure you have the answers to obvious questions, how can anybody debate about something they know nothing about? Keith Vaz made a total fool of himself and was truly 'owned' by Kirsty Wark and Maajid Nawaz of the Quilliam Foundation. If you click on the link and fast forward to 6:50 to the start of the discussion Keith Vaz admits "We don't have absolute freedom of speech in the United Kingdom"
